(OT) A Better Tree --

Well today both my bride and I went out looking for a replacement tree.

As I mentioned in my previous post, my lady didn't like the one I had found . . . and I'll admit it, we did find a much nicer tree.

We haven't finished trimming it yet and the tree lights are unplugged for the sake of the photo . . . but here it is. (note: click on photo for larger version).

Note that the sharp-eyed amongst you might find a few nutcracker 'toy soldiers' on the tree.

May your holidays be joyful . . . and your dice roll well.

Hi Jeff,

Isn't it one of the signs that we are living in the End Times, when suitable Christmas Trees cannot be found in Canada? Ha, ha, ha!

Tree #2 does look better. Enjoy the season, and when you finally do get to read, "The Wargame Companion".

Yours,

Martin

Morning Jeff,

Your (second) tree is beautiful. Well done! And I think I see one or two of those small nutcracker ornaments too. ;-)

Best Regards,

Stokes

I don't have experience with it myself or know if it's available in your area ("Spinal Decompression Therapy" Canada in Google turned up several links), but has your wife looked into the new Spinal Decompression Therapy that's supposed to help with sciatica and other spine ailments?

Loosely put, they basically lay you flat and very very slowly stretch the spine to decompress the discs and take pressure off the nerves. It seems to make logical sense, but I've not had any direct involvement with it. Thought I'd mention it though.

I agree, it is a nicer tree.

I am like yourself, the mountains are covered with fir plantations yet to get a decent tree involves driving ten miles and paying £25.

Still in London the same thing would cost £35-50.

I also have got my Wargames Companion wrapped up and under the tree.

Have a very happy Christmas.

John
