Tensions Rise in Saxe-Bearstein --

Reports that the Army of the Duchy of Mieczyslaw has been mustered have reached the Principality. The reason for such an event has caused some concern here in Saxe-Bearstein. Certainly there cannot be any cause for animosity . . . but why has the Duke called his troops together?

The report (from a most reliable source) can be read here:

Prince Bruno V has not yet decided to call out his own army (well . . . he can't until I paint them . . . and I can't do that until after we've moved . . . *sigh*). Still, this is a situation that calls for careful observation.

The prince urges friends of the Principality of Saxe-Bearstein to aid in keeping a careful eye on the Duchy of Mieczslaw and report any further troop movements.

Morning Jeff,

Hmmm... Is war likely, or is this simply more sabre rattling by Mieczslaw's ruler? And will the goatherds riot as they did in Hesse-Engelburg?

Best Regards,

Regarding the goatherds, and this new development, there is a new posting upon my blog.

Jakub, szlachta of Mieczyslaw, has approached the noble courts of Saxe-Bearstein, in an effort to open a dialogue and diffuse the unhappy reactions to the presentation of Mieczyslaw arms.

Thankyou for bringing to our notice the mobilization of the Duchy of Mieczyslaw. We have exchanged ambassadorial links with the Duchy.

It is our impression that they have no immediate plans for any military action and that they are taking precautions as a number of other countries are mobilising.
Our immediate concern is with the activities of our neighbour Monrovia, and we are taking steps to increase our vigilance along our borders.

His majesty assures Saxe-Bearstein of our friendship and peaceful intentions.
